PROJECT STATUS : ACTIVE
  • LAUNCH DATE : JAN 2017

  • PRIMARY TARGET : Airlines

  • PROJECT FUNCTIONAL AREA : Resource Management

  • PROJECT FOCUS : Resource Management (Crew)

  • PROJECT SPONSOR : Airsource Partners

Project Summary

Optimized crew management results in better control of operating costs and improved the crew-working experience leading in turn to an increase of the airline’s bottom line. It is therefore critical to the success of any airline.

When it comes to crew management airlines must spare no efforts to drive out inefficiencies in their crew planning and scheduling processes. At the same time it is important that they maintain the quality of life of their crew.

Airsource Partners’ crew management experts will help you identify areas of improvement in the management of your crew.

Project Description

Evaluate the true performance and contribution of your crew resource as well as areas of improvements through the launch of Quick Win Audits.

Our Professionals have developed a unique results-driven methodology that will help the airline rapidly identify areas of inefficiencies (and therefore areas of improvement) in the management of its crew.

The proposed methodology includes the following steps:

=> On site mission at the airline’s premises to get a feel of the airline’s environment
=> Meeting with crew and airline management to ascertain if what is perceived as the problem or weak point in crew management is actually the problem or a symptom
=> Structure a course of action to address the issues identified in order of priority highest first
=> Engage the implementation of short term corrective actions with immediate effects.

The various issues covered by the Crew Audit can often be treated individually as standalone projects. Very significant improvements can be achieved by following a structured logical and integrated approach but with each issue being treated in order on its own.

By doing so the airline will rapidly achieve some easy wins which help win the buy-in from the airline management tea as well as the crew population people over to the proposed method.

The following areas in particular will typically be covered by the proposed Project:

People:
=> Crew recruiting, selection and training
=> Crew compensation and reward issues
=> Union issues
=> Flight operations management selection and training
=> Pilot and Managers performance management: targets, feedback, counseling etc.

Operations:
=> Crew planning, scheduling, crew numbers etc.
=> FTL (flight time limitations)
=> Operations Control
=> Operations manuals, compilation, amendments etc.
=> IOSA and SAFA
=> Electronic manuals EFB (Electronic Flight Bag),
=> Notices to crew electronically and safety reporting and management electronically

=> Development of pilots for management positions coaching and mentoring
